Sustainable Harvest International Biodiesel Conferencia/ Sustainable Harvest International Biodiesel Conference

Resumen (Summary): Durante el 14 y el 16 de julio, Sustainable Harvest, Whitman Direct Action y Centrobiodiesel patrocinaran un taller y conferencia internacional biodiesel. Representantes de organizaciones no gubernamentales, la facultad de universidades participantes, e individuos interesados en la implementación de programas como parte de la construcción de comunidades sostenibles, están invitados a venir. Durante la conferencia, entrenaremos a las personas interesadas en la química y la mecánica detrás de la producción de biodiesel. Al final de la conferencia, cada participante estará capacitado en la construcción de una variedad de modelos de procesadores biodiesel, también sabrán como producir combustible usando aceite vegetal usado o grasa animal. Después de la sesión de entrenamiento, patrocinaremos una séquela opcional a la conferencia en la que los participantes ganaran mas experiencia con la tecnología biodiesel. Durante este tiempo también patrocinaremos un foro en el cual las personas presentes podrán presentar sus varios proyectos para el desarrollo de sus comunidades.

From July 14th through July 16th Sustainable Harvest International, Whitman Direct Action, and CentroBiodiesel will be hosting an international biodiesel conference and workshop. Representatives from non-governmental organizationas, university faculty, and individuals interested in implimenting sustainable biodiesel programs for their communities are invited to come to our conference. During the conference we will train people in the chemistry and the mechanices of biodiesel production. At the end of the conference, each participant will have been trained to build biodiesel processors designed to meet the needs of various communities. Participants will also learn how to produce biodiesel from vegetable oil (new or used) and from animal fat.

After the conference there will be a continuation (optional conference) for participants to gain further practice and experience with biodiesel technology. During this time, we will have a formum for attendees to present their various projects they are working on for their communities. The goal of this is to open the door for collaboration between attendees.

Las Procesadoras/The Processors: WDA y CentroBiodiesel han estadan trabajando todo este año para crear procesadores que satisfacen las necesidades de las comunidades y mantenerse costeables. Nues Nuestros diseños para procesadores tienen capacidades de 10 hasta 100 galones diarios y pueden ser operados con o sin electricidad. Estos diseños y mas recursos podrán ser encontrados en la extensa guía que será distribuida a los participantes de la conferencia.

WDA and Centrobiodiesel have been working this year to build processors that satisfy the needs of various communinties. We are building processors that have the ability to produce anywhere from 10 to 100 gallons per day, and we are designing models that can run without electicity. These plans and explinations will be provided in an extensive guide distributed to the participants of the conference (and will also be continually available to people through Sustainable Harvest's office.

Building Small Scale Processors

Resumen (Summary): There are several individuals and groups in the NW with experience in building small scale biodiesel processors. This project involves supporting and engaging in the efforts of those groups to build similar units in villages and towns in Central America.

Improving Centrobiodiesel Web Site

Resumen (Summary): Adding Spanish language how-to videos to Centrobiodiesel web site.

Recent Accomplishments: Completed videotaping of basic biodiesel making process and process as well as "Appleseed Process" that used by a local home biodiesel maker. Plan to edit tapes and produce videos by early May.
